====== 3D Printing ====== We have three 3D printers in the venue all located in the [[Hack space]] in the [[PC Room]]: * [[Creality K1C]] - this is the red enclosed glass printer. * Qidi Smart X3 - this is the white enclosed plastic printer, it's only been used once, but seems to have a clog in the extruder. It needs opened up and any PLA ejected before it will work again. * Creality Ender Pro v3 - this is the open (not enclosed) printer. It works, but is having a problem feeding/extruding filament. I've ordered a replacement extruder which should arrive around the 12th of June. Current filament stocks (in the shelf above the printers): * 2x Creality white PLA (one loaded into the [[Creality K1C]]) * 2x Creality black PLA (sealed on shelf) * 1x Sulu blue PLA (in [[Filament dryer]]) * 1x Sulu brown PLA (sealed in box on shelf) * 1x Sulu red ABS (sealed in box on shelf) ==== How much does it cost to print? ==== Members are welcome to use the printers but if you are printing more than a few small items then please consider a donation towards filament and wear and tear (replacement nozzles, hot ends, belts and beds). Costs are broken down below, but roughly (exlcuding electricity) it costs around 22p per 10 grams to print. When you are using the slicer you'll get an estimate of how many grams of filament a job will take to print. ^**Standard PLA filament (black, white, grey), 10g print, 0.5 hour print time:**^^ |ELEGOO PLA Filament 1.75mm Black 1KG, 3D Filament Dimensional Accuracy +/- 0.02mm, 1kg Cardboard Spool(2.2lbs) [£15]| 0.15| |Wear and tear (significant maintenance every 1,500 hours) [£200]| 0.066| ^Cost per 10 gram^ 22p^
